Brandy Lloyd

Hailing from the heart of Texas, Brandy Lloyd’s story is one of grit, determination, and an enduring love for the Western way of life. A native of Bronte, Texas, Brandy now resides in San Angelo, where she juggles ranching, raising horses, and helping her parents with their family business, ProTubs. Alongside her husband Cory, who owns a fencing company, Brandy embodies the values of hard work and resilience that define her lifestyle.

Rodeo has been a cornerstone of Brandy’s life since she was three years old, when she participated in her first playday. That early start grew into a lifelong passion for the sport, initially focusing on breakaway roping. However, her journey took a new turn in 2015, when Cory introduced her to team roping. What began as a new skill while they were dating has since become a key part of her life.

Brandy has been a proud member of 40+ for two years, and the organization’s finals this year were especially meaningful. Riding Lida, a mare she and Cory raised, Brandy achieved several of her 2024 goals. Lida’s story is a special one: they bought her dam in Oklahoma while she was bred, trading one of Cory’s saddles and some money for her. Another standout from their ranch is Sahr, a gelding with a deeply personal name honoring a friend’s son.

For Brandy, raising the horses she competes with adds a special layer to her accomplishments. “We raise all the horses we ride,” she shares.

This year’s 40+ Team Roping Finals were not only a competitive milestone but a personal triumph for Brandy. After surviving a near-fatal horse accident last year, she faced significant challenges with memory and cognitive recall. Her outstanding performance at the finals was a powerful validation of her progress and determination.

Looking ahead, Brandy has her sights set on another major goal: winning big in Las Vegas. With her unshakable perseverance and strong support system, it’s clear she’ll continue to blaze a trail in and out of the arena.
