Paula Knudsen is from the same small town in Illinois that her husband and fellow 40+ Member Bob Knudsen is from - Kankakee, IL. Paula traveled alongside her husband rodeoing for years and then shifted into competing in jackpots after their daughter was born. “I grew up barrel racing, but that changed after Bob and I got married. I sold my barrel horse and got into heading in the team roping.”

Paula has been a member of the 40+ for the last ten years after moving to Texas. She consistently uses two geldings to rope on at home and in competition. “My primary horse is a palomino gelding named Queso. I have had him for the last two years and he is a really good guy. I also have a grey gelding named Titan that I use to practice on at home. Titan can rope both ends so sometimes Bob uses him to heel as well.”

When asked about her team roping goals Paula says, “I really just enjoy roping. I am a nurse so working 12 hour shifts limits my roping time; I would really like to be able to ride more frequently. Competing at the 40+ Finals is also on my list for this year.” In the past Paula and her husband have placed in the #11 at the World Series together and she hopes to rope in Las Vegas again this year. Paula uses both Classic Rope and Classic Equine products to find success in the practice pen and in competition.
